I have operated my freelance writing business since 2009, providing quality content (both bylined articles and content marketing) to clients primarily in the healthcare industry. My professional memberships include the American Health Information Management Association, American Academy of Professional Coders, Society of Professional Journalists, Association of Health Care Journalists, and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. In 2020, I incorporated my business as Lisa A. Eramo Writing Services, Inc.
More about me: I grew up in central NY, part of a large Italian family in which stories were treasured. I studied creative writing at Hamilton College and obtained a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University.
I write about healthcare because it touches everyone. I’d like to think that what I write will somehow change the industry for the better whether it’s through sensitive and informed patient care, clinical documentation that captures the patient’s story, patient engagement, and more. If what I write can inspire even one healthcare provider, hospital executive, medical practice manager, or patient, then I’ve accomplished my goal.
I currently reside in Cranston, Rhode Island where I revel in the fact that I’m only a short drive away from the ocean. I work from home at an antique roll top desk that is one of my favorite possessions. I absorb details like a sponge, listen intently, and enjoy searching for the heart of a story. What’s yours?
